Two OBD emissions test machines, two certified testers, working side by side — most vehicles are in and out in under 10 minutes. Plus full auto repair, oil changes, and battery service on Gessner Rd.
Texas eliminated the old safety inspection, but Harris County still requires an annual emissions test to renew registration — and it's the reason people find us in the first place. Two OBD machines run at the same time, so two vehicles are tested together, side by side. You stay with your car the whole time — no drop-off, no keys handed over — and most drivers are back on the road in under 10 minutes. Once you're here for the test, it's what opens the door to everything else the shop does: repair, oil change, and battery service.
Reza runs this shop himself, day to day. No corporate scripts, no call center — if there's a problem, you talk directly to the person who can fix it.
One location means the same techs know your car and your history — not a different rotating crew every time you come in.
Two OBD machines and a drive-through lane designed around getting Houston drivers back on the road fast — not a corporate playbook.
General repair and A/C diagnostics — from a rattle you can't place to a compressor that's given up in July.
Quick oil changes and battery testing/replacement, handled while you wait in the front lobby.
Two OBD machines running at once, under 10 minutes — you stay with your car the whole time. The emissions test Harris County requires for registration, without the wait.
No phone call needed. Fill this out and send it to us by email or text — great if you'd rather not call, including for Deaf or hard-of-hearing customers.
This opens your own email or messaging app with the details filled in — just hit send. We'll confirm your appointment back by phone, text, or email.
Passing the test is the hard part — turning that into your registration sticker is easy once you know your options. Here's every way Harris County drivers get it done.
Once your passing result is on file, renew at Texas.gov using the Texas by Texas (TxT) service — available 90 days before your expiration and up to a year after. You get an emailed confirmation to keep in your vehicle while the physical sticker is mailed, usually within a couple of weeks.
If your registration isn't too far past due, many Kroger, H-E-B, and AAA locations can print your sticker on the spot. Bring your complete renewal notice, proof of insurance, and ID — your passing emissions result is checked electronically. Availability and rules vary by store and county, so it's worth calling ahead.
Walk into any Harris County Tax Office location (or an approved substation) with your renewal notice, insurance, and ID. If your emissions result hasn't shown up electronically yet, bring the Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) we hand you after your test — it's valid proof for up to 13 months.
Send your renewal notice, a copy of your VIR, a copy of your ID, and payment to the county tax office. Slower than the other options, but simple if you'd rather not go in person.
Keep your VIR (Vehicle Inspection Report) in the glovebox after your test — it's your proof of a passing result no matter how you renew, and you can also pull a copy anytime at mytxcar.org.
